Objective & Scope of Position

Objective:  Support teams with organizational, structural, administrative activities, facilitate workshops and follow-up on action items to support the organizational objectives.

Scope:  All aspects and functions involved with organizational and administration support for Tooling, Maintenance, Operations and Changeover Teams at MPT Sterling Heights.

Responsibilities, Duties & Authority

  1. Setup, monitor and improve Inventory system and reorder components as needed.
  2. Enter requisitions in system and track PO approval
  3. Facilitate supplier services
  4. Schedule regular maintenance activities with service providers
  5. Confirm Facility Contingencies plan annually
  6. Responsible to develop tracking of Production performance data and develop an effective reporting structure, continuously improve this process
  7. Work with the Systems analyst to automate data acquisition and presentation to support continuous improvement activities
  8. Utilize maintenance program to facilitate Preventative Maintenance activities and work orders
  9. Facilitate problem analysis from unplanned downtime
  10. Supports Implementation of MAFACT t in all areas and participates in MAFACT audits
  11. Actively supports the implementation of TPM, other lean tools and visual management
  12. Document Continuous Improvements and projects on Magna designed format.
  13. Ensures safety and environmental processes and procedures are followed when ordering items.
  14. Facilitate Supplier and Contractor Orientations and act as Host when needed.
  15. Participates in continuous improvement activities, submits Cost saving improvement suggestions, CIP’s.

Education &/or Experience Requirements

Minimum five (5) years of administrative support in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to develop documentation, reports and presentations at a high level of professionalism for internal and external communication.  Ability to work in fast paced environment. Able to manage multiple projects at a time.  Must have experience with lean manufacturing practices.  Skilled in problem Solving.  Strong administrative skills. Teamwork and strong organizational skills required.  Must possess the ability to pay attention to detail, ability to ensure data is precise.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Language Skills: Requires extensive tact and communication skills (verbal and written) for direct supplier/vendor  communication.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.  Must be able to communicate in both written and spoken English.
Mathematical Skills:  Ability to calculate basic math, understanding of decimals, ability to add, subtract and multiply. 
Reasoning Skills:  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  Ability to use problem solving when presented with problems or duties that do not have immediate answers or results.
Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should be at an advanced level, having in depth knowledge and experience with CMS Microsoft Office including Excel.  Prior experience utilizing AS400 Database software and ability to create spreadsheets.
Communication Skills:  Ability to use active listening and assertive communication when needed.  Ability to give positive and negative feedback effectively.  
Problem Solving Skills:  Understands and can apply 5 Why mythology, Skillful in analysis of problems, research to identify root causes and find solutions, creativity to find robust and effective solutions to problems.  Able to make decisions based on available information.
