We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Battery Systems Engineer to join the Corporate R&D team in St. Valentin or Graz, Austria.
You are comfortable working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, agile R&D engineering development environment where you are able to exercise freedom to innovate and explore new methods and solutions. You are responsible for leading the development of concepts, prototyping and testing. We encourage all individuals who give nothing less than their best to apply, we’d love to hear from you.
Your Tasks
- Act as technical lead for battery development projects - utilizing cross functional electrical, software and mechanical skill base to deliver customer projects to a high standard.
- Integrate a battery system into a vehicle, from cell via module to traction battery.
- Support the ideation process while identifying gaps in the current product or manufacturing technology to guide and provide future R&D efforts.
- Evaluate technologies and product designs with compliance to scientific principles, engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications.
- Provide engineering support to other departments within the company as directed by the department leader.
- Prepare and present project progress reports.
- Demonstrate sustained innovation and creativity leading to significant project accomplishments without direct technical supervision.
Your Profile
- Comprehensive understanding about automotive technology in general and battery systems and functional integration in specific, e.g.: electric, thermal, energy, ASIL, FMEA, FUSA etc.
- Good understanding of basic engineering principles, simulation, e.g.: evaluation of dynamic systems (frequency, capacity, state of charge, state of health) etc.
- Basic knowledge of chemical behavior and physical construction of battery cells
- Basic understanding SW/function development, e.g.: object oriented software design, electrics etc.
- Advantageous: Matlab, Python, automotive data & application tools (Vector, ETAS)

The minimum annual remuneration package for this position is EUR 60.000,- with corresponding qualification. The actual salary is higher and depends on your education and specific work experience.
