Role Summary

To continue to grow our Polyurethane business by properly supporting the needs for new business along with existing plants/business.  Provides skilled tooling knowledge along with Continuous Improvement support to all areas of Foam manufacturing.  Significant quoting support is needed for all aspects of Seating Polyurethanes.  

Key Responsibilities

•    Adheres to Magna’s Corporate Management Guidelines to achieve the principles of Magna’s Employee Charter.
•    Ensures Company’s compliance to the Magna Employee’s Charter.  Protects the interests of the employees and the Company in accordance with Company policies, Employee’s Charter Principles, and applicable employment laws and regulations.
•    Adheres to company systems and policies regarding to EH&S programs, including applicable regulations
•    Adheres to company systems and policies (TS16949, 5S, ISO 14001, employee handbook).
•    Track North American Foam Plants Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
•    Support North American Foam Facilities with Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts
•    Receive/download, review and make recommendations to Tooling Design data for various Foam programs/initiatives
•    Obtaining Tooling quotations from Suppliers and Vendor kickoffs
•    Manage Tool shops and any related New Business/R&D activities related to Foam tooling
•    Assist in the New Business Foam Quoting which includes Foam/Components/Tooling
•    Supports R&D activities in the areas of Foam and Tooling development

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Completed an Apprentice program in Mold Making and/or a Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience/Special Knowledge/Skills
Minimum (5) years of experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
3+ years with a combination of Tool Design, Quoting and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Demonstrated successful performance with Problem Solving/Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing.
Proven record of a hands-on approach to problem solving, innovation, and change management skills.
Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and technical presentations.
Proficient with utilizing CAD or equivalent design software along with spreadsheets and database applications.
Strong organizational skills and project management ability to successfully complete multiple tasks timely and manage changing deadlines.
Polyurethane foam experience a plus

No skills testing required.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Typically bends, crouches and reaches on a regular basis to access materials and equipment in a Production/R&D environment. 
Regular work both on the plant floor and at a computer/desk. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 35lbs. 
Some travel required. Overtime may be required.
