Role Summary

The Systems Tools Engineer develops the tools necessary to perform systems level validation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the build of test setups from concept to assembly including tracking of procurements and subsuppliers
  • Develop the system tool requirements based upon customer requirements and alignment with all involved stakeholders
  • Understand and document system tool requirements using ALM tools.
  • Manage and negotiate internal customer requirements, change requests, and unwritten expectations.
  • Document system tool architecture in an unambiguous, clear, and understandable way.
  • Create and maintain project documentation
  • Actively pursue cost saving ideas
  • Be aware of innovative solutions and propose patent applications.
     

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Certified engineer or master craftsman (Electric/Mechatronics) with proven track record and 4-8 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering / hardware engineering / mechatronics or equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience regarding the responsibility / activities (listed above) for automotive electronics serial development projects (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of product development engineering practices in automotive field
  • Good electrical and mechanical skills

  • Requirements decomposition planning and reporting (KPI generation)
  • Track records of writing good requirements that can be successfully implemented
  • Profound technical knowledge of automotive electronics products
  • Familiar with typical automotive OEM requirements
  • Can anticipate customer requirements, even if not stated in customer documentation
  • Experienced in use of requirements management tools
  • Familiar with concepts such as base lining, inheritance etc.
  • Expertise in using CAN based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, neoVI, etc.
  • Experience with UML or Matlab/Simulink and Stateflow
  • Working knowledge of IS026262,  hazard, SAE J2464, IEC, NEC, ISO 20G53, and two-level fault strategies
  • Knowledge of structured problem solving (8D) methods and/or techniques
  • Knowledge of MS Office package (especially Excel)
  • Knowledge of analysis and engineering tools such as version control/configuration management, UML tools, static code check tools
