Key Responsibilities

  • Design automotive radar antennas and antenna arrays in a cross disciplinary manner (electronics, software, algorithms, mechanics, etc.)
  • Evaluate customer specifications and translation into designs
  • Lead the development activities for antenna designs (patch antennas, slot antennas, waveguide antennas)
  • Support customer presentations, interface with OEMs on requirements and architectural topics, in all project phases from quoting to production
  • Evaluating internal and external engineering design change requests

Key Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • Master degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Math or equivalent technical field
  • Minimum 5 year experience in antenna design and EM-simulation, preferably in automotive industry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Able to work in distributed global team environment
  • Ability to travel to both domestic and international locations (engineering and manufacturing sites, suppliers, and customers)
  • Good English  and German skills are essential
  • Familiar with:

- different simulation tools (e.g. HFSS, CST)

- HF-PCB material parameters

- radar system simulations including radome and bumper

- Hands-on antenna fabrication ability

- automotive development process

- understanding of regulations and standards (e.g. ETSI, FCC)

- spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and RF signal generators

- requirements engineering/management process

- requirements management tools such as DOORS

lab equipment for antenna measurements and verifications

  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory
