Role Summary

The Simulation & Automation Engineer is responsible for developing Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and other test systems that are required for the development of ADAS products

Key Responsibilities

Design, Develop, Commission and Deploy world class HILs and associated infrastructure using technologies such as but not limited to Matlab, Simulink, dSPACE, NI Veristand, ETAS Labcar, IPG Carmaker, etc. to test both ECU-Level and System-Level software requirements.

Design and Develop Controls Test System software (i.e. Plant Models, Loss Models, and Closed Loop Control Algorithms etc.) and HW components as required to safely test ECUs and systems in the Hardware-in-the-loop environment.

Perform Data Analysis on the test execution output files to generate plots, charts, reports, spreadsheets, presentations etc.

Develop Testing Infrastructure to auto-test ECU functional requirements within a real-world Vehicle Level environment.

Support the selection and design of new test equipment such as HILs.

Develop and provide test infrastructure user instruction manual and training, as required, to the crossfunctional team

Develop test automation scripts and libraries using industry standard test automation tools.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in engineering or demonstrated equivalent skills. Master’s degree preferred.

4-8 years experience regarding Responsibility / Main Activities (listed above) in serial development or comparable experience in automotive (mandatory); electronic industry preferred

Working knowledge of DMM, Oscilloscope, Video Scope etc.

ECU, or ADAS product/test experience desired

Experience with automotive requirements and design preferred

Working knowledge of product development and product testing engineering practices in automotive field

Working knowledge of HIL procedures and equipment

Working knowledge in planned and structured approach

Working knowledge of problem solving techniques

Working knowledge of configuration management, and project monitoring and control techniques (preferably PTC/MKS)

Knowledge of structured problem solving (8D) methods and/or techniques

Expert communication and interpersonal skills

Travel (domestic and international) may be needed

Matlab/Simulink, dSpace, Labview, model based development tools

Working knowledge of CAN and LIN based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, and other automotive networks and related tools

Advanced knowledge of MS Office package

Comprehensive knowledge of German (speak & write)

Working knowledge of English (speak & write)
