Role Summary

The Solution Architect ALM is globally responsible for Magna Electronics ALM solution to ensure stable operations and continuous improvements. The candidate will initiate, coordinate, or conduct all necessary technical activities for the ALM System as well as required integration with upstream/downstream systems to meet the needs of the organization. The candidate will be part of a global strategic program to transform and modernize Magna electronics’ ALM Toolchain. After successful implementation the candidate will continue to lead all necessary activities and continuous improvement for ALM operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the solution throughout its entire lifecycle to meet all IT guidelines
  • Responsible for the operations of the service & its associated components
  • Ensures that the support organization can fix all solution related tickets (incidents, service requests, problems, changes, knowledge base articles, technical trainings)
  • Agrees effectiveness & sustainability of this solution with affected stakeholders
  • Responsibility together with his Service Owner(s) to ensure that the solution is provided in the agreed manner (fulfills agreed SLA)
  • Responsible for design, creation and maintenance of adequate documentation of the ALM solution architecture in relevant dimensions including the dependencies (e.g., infrastructure, applications, dataflow, functionality, ...)
  • Responsible for build & release management (including relevant documentation)
  • Agrees all target costs with the Service Owner (including expected growth)
  • Monitor & optimization of all service-related components. Any change to the service components resulting in deviation to target costs must be aligned & agreed with the Service Owner
  • Monitor & optimization of license usage together with license management & draft appropriate measures in case of deviation together with License Management & ALM team
  • Plan, coordinate or conduct technical activities for continuous improvement of ALM toolchain

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree with a major in engineering or Information technology
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in developing and working with ALM engineering toolchain and process development especially in administration, support & development of the systems
  • Experience in leading large scale IT System Implementations (Preferred)
  • Able to work effectively in a global environment with little to no supervision
  • Able to represent technical topics internally and externally.
  • Planned and structured approach
  • Comprehensive knowledge in Tool, System Administration & customization of ALM toolchain (Preferred IBM JAZZ & related toolchain)
  • Advanced knowledge of ALM related business processes
  • Advanced programming & scripting knowledge (Java, JavaScript)
  • Advanced knowledge about automation & technologies like REST APIs
