Role Summary
Cosma Casting specializes in High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) that designs and builds medium to large aluminium die-cast automotive components and operates in Germany, UK, Poland and US.
Working for Casting Group/Team, reporting to the Director of Engineering (Automation), as IoT Developer you will be responsible for shopfloor equipment connectivity in support of bringing smart factory solutions into reality across Casting divisions (Europe & US).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new techniques to connect legacy equipment to modern infrastructure
- Create IoT applications that run on-premise and in the cloud
- Develop KPIs, metrics, and other monitoring tools to track I4.0 production environments
- Work with source control tools (Confluence, GitHub, etc.)
- Explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience
Knowledge & experience
- Minimum three plus (3+) years of related experience required
- PLC programming background, i.e. Siemens and Rockwell controllers
- Robot programming background, i.e. Fanuc, ABB, Kuka, and/or Motoman
- Understanding of multiple computer programming languages, i.e. JavaScript, C#, R, Python, C++ and/or Java
- Strong experience with relational databases, i.e. SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle. NoSQL databases experience is a plus.
- In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
- Experience in with the MQTT protocol
- Experience with capability studies (such as CPK, Gage R, and Gage R&R)
- Knowledgeable of statistical methods
- Familiarity with BI technologies, i.e. Microsoft Power BI, AWS Quicksight, Qlikview
Work Environment
The role requires travelling (minimum 50% of travel) to all Casting divisions (Europe & US). The role can be placed formally in any of our location we are operating (including Group office).
