About the Role

As a Manufacturing Engineering Senior Manager (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the Production Engineering and development activities in accordance with the company's internal procedures.  Based on your experience and know-how. ypi will beresponsible for the process development activities in accordance with the company's internal procedures.

Your Responsibilities

  • Evaluates available capacity in locations outside the defined manufacturing location for manufacturing purchasable parts within Magna group.
  • Develops and maintains equipment and process standards designed to optimize all CAPEX (molding, coating and assembly) as well as capital standard strategies based on volume dependencies.
  • Ensures new business opportunities are identified to optimize utilization of existing assets and footprint and ensures the implementation of Automation Projects according to Business Plan and evaluates new processing methods technology for application purposes for new business opportunities.
  • Focuses on maximum product integrity during development in quality, manufacturability and warranty avoidance at the forefront.
  • Give support to Division Program Manager for communications with customers (in line with sales) in relation to new program quotes, technical reviews (customer requirements).
  • Participate to develop a basic process flow and PFMEA model.
  • Coordinates equipment/production reviews (internal and executive technical reviews) with cross-functional team to achieve manufacturing strategy capture.
  • Support Sales Teams to develop customer relationships further and seek new business and during RFQ phase
  • Intercation with MML Divisions:
    • Support Division to optimize existing Production or New Project with line balancing (MTM) and spread manufacturing Best Practices within different Divisions.
  • Works with the division's Quote Production Engineering team to ensure quotes are aligned with best practices and optimized costs.



Who we are looking for

  • Post-secondary education in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering is required where a bachelor's degree would be an advantage
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering and manufacturing experience in the Automotive Industry and/or Automotive Supply Base, a resource focused on assembly, molding, coating and tooling methods. MTM expertise would be an advantage 
  • Experience in an integrated product development team environment is required
  • Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) methods and processes
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Techniques and variable/flexible standards
  • Knowledge of customer specific requirements (TS16949 / ISO9000 / ISO 14001 / OHSMS) and industry standards
  • Understanding of asset reuse and effective planning to limit asset deterioration
  • Knowledge and execution experience related to APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans and process flow
  • Understanding of the quoting process and ROI and printing tolerances and GD&T
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs and SAP
  • Very good leadership and training skills
  • High degree of integrity and self-motivation
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills and discretion
  • Fluent in English and German preferable
