Role Summary

The Controls and Robotics Specialist designs, commissions, and programs 3D weld inspection system at customers’ location. This role provides remote and onsite support and training to CAT’s customers. Additional duties include PLC, MES, SCADA programming at customer locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan 3D weld inspection system requirements.
  • Commission, Program, and Troubleshoot Vision systems.
  • Robot Programming (Fanuc, Motoman, Kuka).
  • Remote and onsite Support.
  • PLC, MES, SCADA Programming.
  • Follow ISO 9001 and MAFACT process as required by the company.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Post-secondary education
    • Completion of Welding Engineering Program. Or
    • Completion of Mechatronic Engineering Program. or
    • Equivalent program
  • Practical experience with industrial robots
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Reliable and self-motivated.
  • Good organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prepare, read, write, and interpret written reports, procedures, instructions, and guidelines.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customers and work effectively within a team environment.
  • Competent at organizing, scheduling, and managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Able to use computer and software as required.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Work well with others; promoting and fostering positive employee relations.
  • Must be organized, have proven ability to work under tight time constraints.
  • Excellent English skills (fluent in spoken and written)

  • Office and shop floor environment according to each project’s needs.
  • Day Shift, flex hours may be required to accommodate the needs of global divisions.
  • Potential for hybrid work according to job demand
