About the Role

 

The Manager, Legal Counsel Will be responsible for drafting, filing, updating, administrating and negotiating in confidential basis, the agreements required by all Magna Mexican Divisions. Provide legal advice in complex regulated matters, such as energy, customs, transportation, tax, among others, which might have legal implications for Magna’s operations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for drafting, filing, updating, administrating and negotiating in confidential basis, the agreements required by all Magna Mexican Divisions. Provide legal advice in complex regulated matters, such as energy, customs, transportation, tax, among others, which might have legal implications for Magna’s operations.
  • Responsible to provide all kind of legal assistance to Magna Mexican Divisions, with special attention to matters related with procurement and supply chain. All of these functions Will be performed in accordance with the applicable Mexican laws and regulations, the Magna policies and the directions of the Director of Legal Services-Mexico.
  • Provide legal trainings to Magna’s Mexican Divisions.
  • Should be in regular and frequent communication with the Magna International Inc. and the Group Legal Counsels, as well as some Magna Mexican Divisions executives and external attorneys to perform the activities described above

The candidate should have good communication and negotiation skills.

The candidate should be meticulous and assertive when reviewing the details of all assignments.

The candidate should be skilled to effectively identify and solve problems as well as providing assistance to Divisions

The candidate should have leadership skills and work under pressure. 

The candidate should follow all Magna policies, especially the Magna Code of Conduct and Ethics.

 

Meticulous, honest, reliable and capable of having business conversations in English.

Word, Power Point, Excel y Outlook.

The candidate should be comfortable to work under pressure.

 

Your preferred qualifications

Attorney at Law.

Bilingual English and Spanish.

At least 6 years of experience working in a corporate law firm or legal department.

Experience in dealing with international commercial transactions is highly recommended.

Experience in dealing with supply chain matters is highly valuated.

Experience in reviewing drafting and negotiating agreements in English and Spanish

Experience and/ or knowledge din automobile industry is highly valued

Excellent computer skills, including with the necessary programs needed to perform the responsibilities described above.

Skilled and familiar with the use of the General Law for Mercantile Companies, Commercial Code, Foreign Investment Law and some other applicable Mexican laws and regulations.
