Role Summary
Magna Global IT is a world class provider of reliable IT solutions and services to assist Magna in succeeding globally.
The MES Project Manager role is to lead MES Projects in the region. Support business at MES activities in the region for any IT and business process related topics. Coordinate all parties in projects (internal and external) to be successful. Support business hiring proper IT personal, provide Magna Global IT conform training. Support for sales and transitional services. Maintain the Know How for the relevant domains in the region and share it with other regions. Roll-out and support development of global standards, processes and methodology. Execute and force audits against Magna Global IT Standards. Project conform reporting responsibility to Business, BRM's and Magna Global IT Management.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
• Manage MES projects in alignment with the global MES strategy, methodology, processes and solutions and standards
• Coordinate with other IT Domains in projects as well as Global IT Management and Group BRM's
• Support continuous improvement of methodology, processes & services within the region
• Track and monitor performance of projects & services within the region
• Project and process documentation
• GoLive and /Post GoLive Support
• Know when to hand over the project to the operations team
Project Controlling
• Create and maintain project budgets
• Manage costs and revenue for each project
• Responsible for proper project controlling, billing and reporting
• Coordinate activities on both the Customer and the Vendor’s side to keep project on schedule
• Communicate all changes that have an impact on the project
Relationships
• Understand business expectations
• Keep and stay up to date with services of other Global IT domains
• Stay in close contact with Operations and BRM's
• Identify opportunities, risk and constraints for IT to enhance the business
• Provide input to and force the continual improvement of services
• Other duties as required
Education and Experience
• PMP Certified or 5+ years experience with Project Management
• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and/or equivalent work experience
• In-depth, hands-on experience with various development technologies
• 5+ years’ experience with relation database technologies
• Good analytical skills and ability to work with customer oriented teams in a global environment
• Good knowledge of current web technologies (eg. HTML, JavaScript, XML)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation and organizational skills.
• Flexible, independent team player in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.
• Creative problem solving abilities with attention to detail
• Automotive manufacturing experience an asset
