Your responsibilities

Do you want to create the drive systems of future electric cars? Are you excited about new and innovative e-motor designs? Do you like to solve complex challenges? 

Then you are right in the advanced engineering department for electrification at Magna Powertrain. In Advanced Engineering eDrive E-Motor you are integrated in a multi-cultural and multi-lingual group within an international company acting on a global scale. In close cooperation with other departments (e.g., e-motor testing, thermal and mechanical design) and external partners in industry and research your exciting tasks in this position include:

  • Architecture and detailed electromagnetic design of traction e-motors for cars
  • Identification, evaluation, and implementation of new innovative technologies (e.g., next generation winding technologies, new materials, innovative cooling concepts) for automotive traction e-motors
  • Development and enhancements of tools for e-motor design, optimization, and simulation
  • Evaluation of the state of the art and benchmarking of new innovative technologies
     

Your qualification

  • Academic degree in engineering or physics, either Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of professional experience in e-motor design, Master’s degree with 2 years of professional experience, or appropriate PhD degree
  • Experience with well-established tools for the electromagnetic design of e-motors, e.g., Ansys Maxwell 2D/3D and Motor-CAD
  • Experience with coding beneficial, e.g., scripting in Matlab and Python
  • Target-oriented and self-reliant way of working
  • Experience with (mathematical/numerical) optimization and corresponding software tools advantageous
  • Basic know-how in power electronics advantageous
  • Very good English skills, German advantageous

Salary:

For this function, we offer an attractive compensation package that matches your individual experience and qualifications. The gross yearly salary corresponding to the metal collective agreement for 38.5 hours is at least 50.218,-- . Overpayment is possible according to your experience and educational background.
