Role Summary


This job contributes to team success by leading the strategy, design, development, and delivery of total compensation programs, including cash compensation, EPPP, regional salary survey etc. for Magna Asia which are aligned with global total compensation philosophy and policies.

Personal Attributes
  • Develop Asia total compensation strategy to ensure Magna compensation and benefits programs are competitive in attracting, developing and retaining key talents under the principle of global total compensation philosophy and company values
  • Develop creative reward and recognition programs to drive employee engagement and maintain turnover levels below market median
  • Develop appropriate salary structures based on job families to monitor the level and effectiveness of pay to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness
  • Establishes partnerships with department client groups to determine their strategic total compensation needs and provide creative and practical solutions
  • Assists business clients in the development of business case, return on investment, and measures effectiveness of total compensation programs.
  • Develop and deliver total compensation programs that are locally compliant, differentiated in the different market, and help drive Asia business goals
  • Develop total compensation communication strategy to convey linkage to the company values and business objective, enhance competitive positioning, ensure managers and employees understanding and maximize total compensation value.Being a champion and subject matter expert by partnership with business clients and HR BP team in design of total compensation programs for group/ functions and ensure market competitiveness and compliance with local regulations
  • Set team target. Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve employee, business and customer results
  • Partner with external compensation & benefit companies to obtain annual salary, information, and ensure appropriate country salary structures are in place throughout the Asia Pacific region.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead Job Evaluation processes to ensure appropriate and compliant job classification.

Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • More than 10 years-experience leading total compensation and for multiple businesses sites.
  • Working in total compensation consulting firm (Aon-Hewitt or Mercer) advisory role would be preferred.
  • Leadership and management of professionals
  • Ability to see the "big picture", create strategic focus and communicate effectively to various levels of the organization
  • Track record of successfully implementing people, process and technology changes with impact and high levels of employee engagement.
  • Ability to apply sound business principles and practices to project management and large scale change initiatives
  • Ability to speak and write fluently in English and Chinese
