Role Summary

Work in a global team environment as a key resource to develop common supplier quality system, improve process control, enhance cost competitiveness and be the conduit between the division and the supplier. Responsibilities include cross-regional supplier development and quality management communication, supporting quality issues with current production, developing suppliers to reduce quality incident, and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance.

Key Responsibilities

- Interface with division and regional teams to prioritize supplier development needs.

- Assess new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity and fulfillment ensuring suppliers are able to meet requirements for performance, quality, cost and delivery of components and requirements for TS 16949, ISO 14001 and other applicable customer requirements.

- Drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards and supplier audit, ensuring supplier compliance, whilst driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans to deliver value

- Track the supplier’s performance indicators, based on their scorecards, to facilitate and develop the supply base’s ability to consistently meet or exceed defined expectations

- Provide leadership during investigations of major problems and or special projects focusing on developing working relationships with suppliers and the supply chain.

- Assist division to driving Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) support.

- Contribute to continuous improvement activities.

Skills:

- Knowledge of quality audit VDA6.3

- Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)

- Report and Procedure writing with excellent presentation skills

- Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings

- Understanding manufacturing processes, such as die casting, molding and electronics.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong problem-solving skills

 

Qualifications and Experience:

- Engineering degree preferred

- Substantial experience in quality management of automotive environment

- English communication skill
