About the Role

  • The Assistant Controller is responsible for handling the day-to-day general accounting functions as well as assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, interim forecasts, CMF, & corporate reporting.
  • Assists Controller in compliance with internal & governmental regulations as well as corporate financial goals & divisional policies/processes.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist in the annual Business Plan & periodic forecasts throughout the year. Assist with internal monthly and year-end financial statements and analysis. Manage Staff Accountants & provides guidance on any issues to ensure day-to-day issues are resolved.
  • Manages & reconciles all capital expenditures. Prepares annual tax reports (City/State/Federal). Prepares/reviews journal entries and coordinates month-end close process. Prepare all account reconciliations & ensure accurate accruals are being held.
  • Assists with all corporate monthly & quarterly schedules as required. Monitors tooling & prototype program expenditures & prepares all related tooling schedules
  • Responsible for Fixed Asset accounting, including depreciation, asset additions & disposals.
  • Assists controller in regulations, financial policies and procedures. Commitment to quality of product and a safe and healthful work environment. Additional duties as assigned or required by Controller

Who we are looking for

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret all financial documents such as invoices, purchase orders, receiving documentation, & procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively and professionally to employees of the organization.  Ability to communicate openly in order to resolve issues/improve processes.
  • Mathematical Skills:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts represented on all financial statements including the P&L, Balance Sheet, & Cash Flow Statement.
  • Reasoning Skills:  Ability to resolve problems involving people or processes from various departments.  Ability to use problem solving & analytical skills when presented with problems or duties that do not have immediate answers or results.
  • Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software such as SAP, and other pertinent software.  Must be familiar with Microsoft Office: Microsoft Excel (including V-lookups, pivot tables, advanced formulas, etc.), PowerPoint, and Outlook email.
     

Your preferred qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Familiar with SAP: FI, CO, AP, AR, and FA & Hyperion One Stream system uploads & mapping
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Full understanding of the GL & financial statement impact
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Above average MS excel skills
