Role Summary

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the IT Department, its budgets, QOS deliverables as applicable and all related management functions of personnel assigned to this group.  Ensures the proper operations of the following systems – MES, ERP, EDI, WAN, LAN, desktop PC’s, Plant Security System and all Production PLC's.  Ensure the principles of the Magna Employee Charter, the Corporate Constitution and Operating Principles are practiced, supported, and reinforced.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct accountability for overseeing the daily operations of the IT Department
  • Lead and/or manage IT projects
  • Ensure that all IT changes are properly tested, documented, and implemented without interruption to operations
  • Administers and troubleshoots the plant's local area network
  • Maintains a database inventory of all data processing equipment
  • Provides helpdesk services for all systems within the position's scope of responsibility
  • Conveys information to management regarding all consequential operational problems
  • Executes data and system file backups according to procedure
  • Interacts with corporate IS support to remedy problems existing with respect to the Client/Server environment, WAN, LAN, and desktop applications
  • Interfaces with vendors for data processing services and products
  • Facilitates employee IS training by researching and scheduling training opportunities
  • Assures compliance with Sarbanes/Oxley 404 legislation
  • Monitors and keeps the division's disaster recovery plan up to date

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all employees have a safe environment in that all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identifies, corrected, and/or eliminated
  • Enforce safety rules, policies, and procedures consistently, and respond to and investigate all reports of accidents or injuries in a timely manner
  • Display a positive attitude towards safety and lead by example that will result in a safe and healthful workplace for all who work at Louisville Seating Systems
  • Ensure that Health, Safety, and Environmental standards are adhered to in accordance to the Magna Employee Charter and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Administers and ensures compliance with the Quality and Material Management System requirements as outlined in the policy manuals

Key Qualifications/Requirements

A four-year degree with a minimum of five years experience with progressive supervisory responsibility in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
