Material Handler

Your Responsibilities

• Rotates on a daily basis to each established cell and maintains responsibility for the preservation of all parts in the assigned cell.
• Loads and unloads trucks, conveyers, lineside racking, and other types of transporting equipment manually or with material handling devices.
• Transports materials to and from departments and workstations using hand trucks, forklifts, tote boxes, tuggers, and other material handling equipment.
• Follows work instructions and procedures, reads work orders for movement of materials on a first in - first out basis, and ensures that the line is stocked in sequential order.
• Counts or weighs items to be moved, labels materials before moving if applicable, and checks incoming or outgoing shipments for accuracy against records.
• Participates in recycling programs, maintains a clean work area, complies with safety and environmental standards, completes required training courses, and works overtime as needed. Rotates on a daily basis to each established cell. Stocks production line with parts on a first in – first out (FIFO) basis. Maintain responsibility for the preservation of all parts in the assigned cell

Your preferred qualifications

MANUAL/PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to safely operate all material handling equipment. 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in person as well as on the radio with courtesy and tact.

BEHAVIOR STANDARDS: Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and
management.

HOURS OF WORK: Shift hours are as needed to support the production schedule of our
customer.
