Role Summary

The position is responsible for the daily operating of the foam line and the facilitating, directing, and supporting all support groups in the production of a quality product that “exceeds our customers’ expectations.”

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the daily operation of the foam line in the manufacturing of foam product.
  • Responsible for validating that the correct recipes, pour codes, robot assignments, and any required data needed to manufacture foam pads is imputed into the HMI is correct and accurate prior to manufacturing any foam pads.
  • Facilitating and positioning the line for tool changes consistent with breaks or as directed.
  • Validating and ensuring that the foam line is ready for production startup, by checking pressures, chemical levels, bucket shots, and temperature levels.
  • Responsible for Working with and notifying the maintenance team for trouble shooting and root cause issues with the foam line.
  • Complete bucket shots daily prior to production run.
  • Responsible developing or modifying of our patterns.
  • Responsible for maintaining and setting up the quick-fit machine and wax guns for production run, and during the shift.
  • The unloading of ISO and PO(LY chemicals from tankers into bulk storage tanks, as required.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting quality concerns and direct production team a needed to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Work on cost reduction and special projects as directed.
  • Ensure environmental and safety procedures are up-to-date and adhered to.
  • Responsible for Sample parts coordination and pour pattern creation as needed.
  • Responsible for providing 1st off pads to the lab for testing and in spec validation, and for any required resubmittals.
  • Responsible for documenting and making necessary changes required to ensure pads are in spec and for following up with the lab for results.
  • Responsible for completing and updating tool change sheets with required pour information for each tool change or pad resubmittal.
  • Communicate problems for resolution with processing and production team and coordinate improvement of production parts with the Processing/Tooling Supervisor.
  • Maintain updated bucket shot data and all files required or directed by management.
  • Complete daily reports and distribute as directed.
  • Maintain work area in accordance to 5S standards.
  • Administers and ensures compliance with the Quality, Environmental, and Material Management System requirements as outlined in the policy manuals.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely, follows all company policies, and reports all unsafe and unhealthy conditions.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in accordance with the Magna Employee Charter and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Undergraduate degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience. A high level of analytical ability is required to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be proficient with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and AutoCAD software.
