Role Summary

  1. Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in installing, repairing, maintaining machinery, facilities and equipment, and in fabricating small machines and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Directs workers in electrical, electronic, controls and mechanical maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
  2. Provides technical support by monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing all complex electrical, electro-mechanical, automated sequencing systems, IT systems and robotics systems. 
  3. Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  4. Assigns job schedules and assists with contractor scheduling and quoting.
  5. Responsible for the grounds being kept up and for building maintenance.
  6. Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  7. Interprets specifications, blueprints, and Work orders to workers, and assigns tasks.
  8. Maintains maintenance management software. PM tasks, Work Orders or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  9. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  10. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  11. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  12. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of maintenance department.

Key Qualifications/Requirements


Directly supervises employees in maintenance. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.




High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3-5 years industrial/machine maintenance experience preferred.



Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Able to apply common problem solving tools in a problem solving process.


  1. Knowledge of, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, PLCs and PCs.
  2. Able to read various schematics (electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic) and blueprints.
  3. Knowledge of OSHA standards and various industrial building/construction codes.

Additional Information

This is a second shift position. Typical hours are 5PM to 330AM Monday through Friday with Saturdays as required by the production schedule.
