About the Role
Under the direction of the Tool Room Supervisor, the Roll Form Tool Maker is responsible for ensuring the functionality of Roll Form Dies and equipment are aligned to the production requirements ensuring the least amount of machine downtime is achieved. The responsible candidate needs to champion; the die repair process to achieve customer requirements, and the preventative maintenance of the equipment and fixtures.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform adjustments on the roll mills to maintain dimensional integrity.
- Perform repairs on dies, such as replace punches, and trims steels while maintaining proper clearances.
- Participate in continual improvement of quality methods, equipment performance, and product quality
- Assist in training and development of apprentices.
- Focus on zero defects such as burring on parts.
Who we are looking for
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
- Journeyman preferred but not necessary with a minimum of 6 years of experience working as a Tool & Die Maker.
- Overhead Crane experience.
- Quality control and SPC knowledge.
- Ability to read and understand Tool and Die prints.
- Knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
- Able to use Precision Measurement tools.
Your preferred qualifications
- Able to run all manual milling machines.
- Knowledge of Roll Forming systems preferred but not necessary.
- Able to set up Dies in presses.
- Some of the Tool room Machines are Knee Mills, Saws, Lathes, Surface Grinders, Drill Presses, Hilo, and Overhead Cranes.
- Precision Measuring Tools
- Able to perform shop math and trigonometry.
- Ability to make dimensional moves by using CAD data and/or CMM reports.
