About the Role

Under the direction of the Engineering Manager the Manufacturing Engineer develops and procures cost effective manufacturing equipment and processes/methods to achieve optimum line balance and throughput. Ensures manufacturing equipment processes are in accordance with Ergonomic practices, meets product specifications and achieves quality standards.

Your Responsibilities

· Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new and/or revised products including establishing goals, managing capital budgets, equipment design, develops manufacturing processes, and training team members and evaluating results.

· Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of facility including manufacturing processes and related equipment.

· Designs and/or procures tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods, confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arranges for purchase of machinery and equipment according to specifications and quality standards.

· Analyze manufacturing operations develop/design workflows and production processes to reduce inefficiency and ensuring that final products meet the established quality standards.

· Develops and maintains process documentation including PFCs, Work Instructions and PFMEAs.

· Prepare material and equipment lists, purchase orders, cost analyses, and estimated production costs.

· Training staff for new processes and providing instructions and manuals.

· Evaluates and resolves problems with production processes and/or production equipment.

· Confer with management, engineering, production and quality staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, product design, and other considerations to ensure operator safety, efficient production methods and quality results.

· Displays a positive attitude towards safety, works safely and follows all the Company's safety policies and procedures.

· Reports all unsafe and unhealthy conditions or acts to management immediately.

Who we are looking for

Your preferred qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent work related experience.

· 5 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.

· Knowledge and proven skills in Lean Manufacturing methods.

· Working knowledge of AutoCAD.

· Possess analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

· Must have good organizational skills.

· Advanced Microsoft Office software skills.

· Strong attention to detail.
