Key Responsibilities

Will be responsible for ensuring the Test Lab and CMM work is performed in an acceptable manner within requirements of established procedures. Perform CMM function in the areas of testing for incoming materials/chemicals.  Validation/verification of design tests on new and/or modified products. Operating the CMM(s), Gage and Fixture Calibration program, and the Calibration system, assist the Quality Department in the daily production requirements for the CMM, work with the Quality Manager, Supervisor in all methods and procedures to ensure conformity to customer specific.

1.    Write and Maintaining Programs for CMM machines, Contracer, and Surfcom Machines
a.    Brown & Sharpe CMM’s running PCDMIS software
b.     Contracer Mitutoyo C4000 running Fomtracepak V5
c.    Surfcom 1500 SD3 Running Acctee
2.    Gage calibration Program.
3.    Annual Customer product layouts.
4.    Part Layouts.
a.    Production First piece.
b.    Engineering Samples.
a.    PPAP samples.
b.    Prototypes.
c.    Product studies.
5.    Perform Capability studies.
6.    Perform MSA’s and statistical evaluations of process and product data.
7.    Write part dimensional inspection programs for CMM Machines:
a.    Current products.
b.    New Products.
c.    Updating and maintaining the DIS program to the current CMM programs.
8.    Maintaining CMM programs.
a.    Maintenance.
b.    Debugging.
c.    Updating and maintaining CMM program Book.
9.    Training operators on the CMM setup and operation. 
10.     Creates CMM Programs for all new launch programs
11.    Updates CMM Programs when engineering changes are implemented
12.    Maintains Gage Pack
13.    Works with Engineering on any testing, dimensional inspection, and studies that may be required
14.    Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to including IATF 16949, ISO14001 (EMS), and Employee   Handbook. 
15.    Manage multiple projects and deliverables while treating team members with dignity and respect and in 
accordance with the Magna Employee’s Charter and Core Values.
16.    Perform all work in a safe and healthful manner as outline in MIOSHA regulations and MPTSH safety and policies 
including use of PPE and proper use of Lockout/Tagout procedures.  Reports unsafe conditions to Manager/Supervisor within the department.
17.    Support and participate in division and department improvement initiatives through Continuous Improvement 
Suggestion Program, and sharing of knowledge, ideas, and/or best practices with co-workers.
18.    Actively participate and comply with all division and department policies, procedures and work instructions as they 
relate to position / department.
19.    Complies with the designated ISO / 14001 responsibilities related to effective environmental management in 
        accordance with MPT’s Environmental Management System (EMS).

Additional Information

High School Diploma/GED. 3-5 years of automotive CMM programming experience. Proficient at reading part drawings. Must have strong knowledge of GD&T. Proficient with Zeiss CMM.  Required to learn PC-DMIS & Calypso software if not already proficient. Must be able to use advanced measuring equipment.  Able to work 2nd shift.
