Role Summary

To manufacture quality parts at an established rate following approved processes and provided training and to perform the assigned task in a safe manner.

All production processes and products manufactured at MPTSH, including but not limited to welding, assembly, heat treating, inspecting, packing, testing and measuring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible to ensure that all safety and quality start-up procedures are followed.
  • Authorized to stop the process if it does not meet safety and/or quality requirements and notify Leader, Supervisor or Quality personal immediately. Follow Leader / Supervisor instructions after the leader / supervisor reviewed the situation.
  • Responsible to follow SWI (Standard Work Instructions) and JES (Job Element Sheets)
  • Following all required inspection requirements at the specified frequencies.
  • Understand the use of gages and measurement equipment following provided training.
  • Responsible to escalate any Quality, Environmental, Ergonomic, Safety or Production concerns to Team Leader or utilize Open Door Process. 
  • Responsible to perform changeovers
  • Follow all applicable processes including but not limited to control of nonconforming outputs, labeling, and production reporting.
  • Responsible to accurately report production and non-conforming product.
  • Report any injuries, accidents, equipment malfunctions, miss hits, property damage, near miss incidences etc. to Supervisor or Team Leader and complete Employee Incident Report.

Education and Experience

Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.  Capable to operate automated assembly lines and automated equipment while responsible to self-diagnosis problems and correct problems autonomously. Results-oriented team player, excellent attendance, high energy level and good attention to detail. Must be able to work required hours.  Must have good shop math skills. Experience with measuring equipment. Follows safety policies and procedures. Responsible for production numbers.  Demonstrates creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work overtime. Excellent attendance and performance record. Willingness to be cross trained on various processes, machines and products.

Additional Skills

Language Skills:  Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English and correspondence such as safety rules and operating instructions.  Ability to document forms as required by position.  Able to communicate in English effectively, (read and write). 
Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS400.
Reasoning Skills:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Communication Skills:  Able to use active listening.  Ability to give positive and constructive feedback effectively.  
Problem Solving Skills:  Understands and can apply 5 Why mythology, creativity to find robust and effective solutions to problems.
