China Energy Generation Infrastructure & Technologies Intern - Summer 2023

Role Summary

China is one of the major automotive markets in the world. With a rapid growth in new energy vehicles sales, the future impact to the national electric energy infrastructure and energy generation will becomes one of the study areas. 

Key objectives for this position include conducting/documenting research on China national level energy generation and assessment of all available options. At the end of this internship, a presentation will be created for an overall China energy generation/resources overview, along with government regulations, past century’s history, current infrastructure, and future’s outlook.

Key Responsibilities

•    Research the overall situation of China electricity/energy generation (mega data)
•    Research the technologies used in China electricity/energy generation
•    Related regulations and summaries
•    Research companies who developed technologies
•    Companies (and their backgrounds) who are providing services
•    Future trend and “carbon peak / carbon neutral” plan

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Basic understanding of physics, energy conversions, electricity, electric grid
•    Knowledge of China
•    High interest in the Automotive industry and Automotive engineering, especially related to Battery Electric Vehicle
•    At least attending a 4-year College or University
•    Major in Science or Engineering
•    Sophomore or higher in college
•    Graduate student is a plus
•    Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•    Good Communication skills (written and verbal).
•    Experience with China and/or understanding Chinese highly preferred.

Additional Information

•    Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
