Mission of the Position


The Cybersecurity Engineer will work with the team to develop the next generation of electric drive systems for electric and hybrid vehicles. Responsible for cross-site further development of the topic of cybersecurity and will support holistic implementation in the organization. During the concept and series development phase, the engineer will be the contact person for the project team, suppliers, and customers, providing support in your specialist area. 


As an Intermediate level engineer, the engineer will work independently with limited supervision to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using knowledge and judgement to make adaptations and modifications. 


Key Responsibilities


  • Support the organization in developing and executing a cybersecurity management process.
  • Creation of cybersecurity plans and tracking of all cybersecurity activities.
  • Creation of Development Interface Agreements (DIA) and coordination of cybersecurity activities between customers and suppliers.
  • Review, negotiate and accept customer requirements together with colleagues from the engineering area.
  • Creation of cybersecurity concept/requirements according to ISO 21434.
  • Support cybersecurity analyses (such as TARA, vulnerability analyses, attack trees, etc.).
  • Provide cybersecurity approvals for product release.
  • Preparation and support of internal and external assessments and audits .
  • Provide cybersecurity support to areas outside of engineering (such as purchasing, quality, production, warranty, etc.).
  • Due to related topics, close coordination with colleagues from the Functional Safety Management department.

  • Develop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Treat everyone with dignity, trust and respect.
  • Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required (mechatronics, electrical engineering or similar) 
  • 3-5 years of experience in Cybersecurity within the automotive industry required. 
  • Requirement Engineering skills (especially Doors and PTC Integrity).
  • Knowledge of SAE J3061, ISO 21434, ISO 26262 and ASPICE required.
  • Knowledge of analysis techniques such as FMEA and TARA is preferred.
  • Good communication skills in dealing with project teams and customers.
  • Analytically thinking personality with well-developed assertiveness and conflict-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written required.

Work Environment


Office environment; up to 10% travel required.


While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
