Role Summary
The candidate will work closely with Data Scientists on multiple data analytics/AI use cases. The projects will include analysis of large data sets to derive insights for business or engineering decisions and prognostics and health monitoring in manufacturing setting. The candidate should be familiar with data workflows including data discovery, ingestion, filtering, transformation, model creation, model deployment and model maintenance. Understanding and knowledge of big data technologies and platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) is expected. Knowledge of Python/R, and relevant math/statistics and machine learning techniques is expected.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will:
• Perform and present data analysis based on requests from customers.
• Talk to customers and define problem statements for Smart Manufacturing.
• Develop solutions that can be compared to a given baseline solution.
• Create data pipeline in one of the popular cloud platforms.
• Test and evaluate the developed solutions.
• Present technical results and provide recommendation based on the case study.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
• Graduate student (Ph.D. preferred) of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer engineering/science, or equivalent engineering, math or science discipline.
• Strong Python and/or R programming experience is required.
• Familiarity with Big data platforms required.
• Experience with Big data technologies preferred.
• Currently attending a College or University, preferably a graduate student.
• Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Ability to work on complex engineering systems with creative ways.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Power Point)
• Professional Communication skills (written and verbal).
Additional Information
• Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
• The candidate may be exposed to the automotive manufacturing environment.
