Are you enthusiastic about new technologies and innovative concepts? You have a broad technical knowledge concerning Gearbox, e-Motor or Inverter and how they are produced? Do you have the ability to recognize complex interrelationships? Do you want to help shape the future propulsion systems of electric and hybrid vehicles? 

 

As Engineer, Innovative Manufacturing Technologies you will be responsible for developing new groundbreaking production technologies for our innovative products to series production readiness, and for accompanying the subsequent industrialization.

 

As an Intermediate level engineer, the engineer will work independently with limited supervision to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using knowledge and judgement to make adaptations and modifications. 

 

As a Senior Engineer, the engineer will independently perform a wide variety of complex/advanced engineering work to include planning, designing, and carrying out work assignments, often serving as a technical authority of the department with little to no supervision.  The engineer will mentor and guide less experienced team members.
 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Planning and implementation of the technical content of innovation projects. 
  • Generation of innovative production-technical solutions and their further development until they are ready for series production.
  • Development of component designs suitable for production (design to manufacture).
  • Execution of production trials and procurement of the necessary prototypes, including the development of testable trial samples.
  • Creation of DVP's (Design Verification Plans). 
  • Calculation of process and product costs with respect to innovative manufacturing technologies.
  • Identification of technology partners and creation of the contractual basis for cooperation with them.
  • Support of pre-series and series development projects, product groups or production sites as technical expert.
  • Accompanying benchmark analyses.
  • Preparation of process standards and certain parts of design standards.  
  • Preparation of relevant information for customer meetings (internal customers and OEM's) as well as support of presentations, seminars, technology workshops or trade shows.

Requirements and Qualifications

 

  • Technical studies bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree, preferred with focus on electrical engineering, mechatronics or manufacturing / production engineering preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of processes and technologies in the manufacture of e-drive components (e.g., power electronics, Inverter parts etc.). 
  • 5-7 years of experience (intermediate) in a related field (more experienced, strong technical background and understanding but no mentorship or leading responsibilities on projects).
  • 7-10 years of experience (senior) (solid senior level from technical and mentorship ability).
  • Several years of experience in process planning. 
  • Professional experience in project management is an advantage.
  • Understanding of the requirements of automotive engineering, as well as knowledge of relevant standards is an advantage.
  • Very good English skills (presentation and communication skills), German skills advantageous.
  • Good MS Office skills.
  • Team player, high goal focus and assertiveness.

Work Environment

 

Office environment; minimal travel required. 


While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
