Role Summary
Cosma Assembly Technology Intern program provides students the opportunity to be a key player within the organization. Areas of focus include application of engineering tools, teamwork, networking, and requires a great deal of dedication.
An Intern student will be given the responsibility of completing meaningful assignments, providing hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a profound impact.
Each student is assigned a manager / department through which they will work closely to learn more about the organization, industry, and career path in which they have chosen to pursue.
Key Responsibilities
• Supports manufacturing in the resolution of issues by providing ongoing engineering support.
• Will examine assembly flow through the manufacturing cell by use of current engineering and continuous improvement techniques.
• Miscellaneous technical data generation and analysis.
• Will Interface with other internal departments.
• Support of Project Managers and Divisional Teams.
• Develop the understanding for 3D CAD.
• Administer CAD data to meet internal and external requirements, under supervision.
• Create detailed reports from system output results.
• Help to maintain CAD data in an organized and identifiable state for data tracking, storage, and transfer purposes, following the division’s guidelines.
• Assist and support immediate and indirect supervisors as requested.
• Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies.
• Understand and follows established rules, procedures and policies relating to position.
• Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna Employee’s Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, Magna Code of Conduct, in all aspects of position and interaction with others.
• Appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
• Manufacturing Engineering.
• Mechanical Engineering.
• Industrial Engineering.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing environment is an asset.
• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• The candidate must have experience in Windows applications including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to provide thorough attention to detail.
• Strong foundation in the basic principles of engineering, as demonstrated in course work and/or extra-curricular activities.
Additional Information
• Office environment with occasional exposure to manufacturing environment. Day Shift, flex hours may be required to accommodate needs of global divisions.
