Product Manager - Autonomous Mobile Robots

Role Summary

Magna is seeking a candidate to be part of the new mobility team to solve challenging problems towards advancing mobility for everyone and everything. An ideal candidate should have good understanding of all the technologies related to Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), Warehouse/Manufacturing Execution System (W/MES), Fleet Management System and financial knowledge to develop and/or assess business plans. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying market opportunities, translating these opportunities into strategy, and managing the execution process from strategy to implementation. You will also work closely with engineering, business development, etc. to translate business plans into product roadmaps and involve in product development activities from concept to serial production. 

Key Responsibilities

•    Develop product strategy aligning with roadmap including defining market opportunity, competitive landscape, and product KPI’s.
•    Gathers and maintains up-to-date competitive and market intelligence. Continually assesses market conditions, competitive pricing, offerings, plans, applications, customer trends/issues, and distribution/product trends.
•    Perform competitive analysis to ensure investments and strategies stay focused on market competitiveness. 
•    Drive product execution, working closely with engineering, business development, marketing, and other teams.
•    Identify new market opportunities and develop business case to define P&L. 
•    Keep abreast of technology introductions, competition, and changing market conditions. 
•    Create and maintain clear documentation of product KPIs and value propositions and product requirements.
•    Author vision and strategy documents, propose and maintain product roadmaps.
•    Communicate and create alignment with all parts of the organization – engineering, sales, marketing, and R&D.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or business or equivalent experience in material handing.
•    10+ years of combined engineering and/or product management experience related to Autonomous Mobile Robots for material handling in industrial and/or warehousing applications.
•    Experience in engineering and implementation of AGV’s/AMR’s.
•    Experience in developing and/or integrating with Warehouse/Manufacturing Execution System (W/MES) and Fleet Management System.
•    Experience in creating and/or assessing financial models.
•    Strong analytical and data-driven management skills.
•    Strong organizational and communication skills.
•    Travel up to 25% as required.

Additional Information

•    Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
