Mission of the Position

 

The Sales Forecast Database and Business Process is a key system for Magna Powertrain (MPT) to support them in monitoring and tracking sales and business development opportunities. The Sales Forecasting System Analyst will be responsible for managing the database and business processes used for planning, tracking, and preparing the MPT Sales Forecast.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Act as ‘owner‘ of the database and business processes related to sales planning and forecasting, including the administration of the database and management of the data within it.
  • Lead and manage database user access, training, and sales reporting for MPT in direct support of Business Plan and Sales Forecasting activities.
  • Serve as a technical resource for day-to-day application support including routine maintenance, and investigation of interface issues, including coordination of scheduling, testing and implementation.
  • Support the process of identifying, diagnosing and solving existing process and system issues.
  • Analyze and assess business processes to identify improvements/enhancements in the Database.
  • Coordinate the Sales Forecasting activities with MPT Business Development, Sales, Finance, and Product/Portfolio Management teams, including MPT Product Group management.
  • Manage Powertrain market volume data, in coordination with market intelligence sources within MPT.
  • Coordinate MPT participation in Magna vehicle volume forecast process, and management of the market volume data, all to support the MPT Sales Forecasting process.
  • Administer third-party and Magna vehicle / powertrain forecast data, support creation of merged market forecast for use in MPT Sales Forecast activities.  Coordinate input to corrections and revisions in the data with MPT market intelligence, MPT sales, and Magna market forecasting teams.
  • Support the preparation and publishing of Sales Forecast, Sales Award summaries, and similar business reports.

Requirements and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Business Administration or equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in the sales analysis field with understanding of major OEM’s and product (vehicle) life cycles.
  • Understanding of business processes and systems and how a sales forecast is built.
  • Proficient in Excel, in particular pivot tables to analyze large quantities of data.
  • From time to time, work off-hours to support clients across different time zones and during periodically scheduled update/maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work with customer oriented teams in a global environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation and organizational skills.
  • Creative problem solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Flexible and independent while at the same time a team player in a demanding environment with changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of PowerBI would be a plus and SQL server.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to changing needs.
  • Ability to work with people at varying levels of the organization.    

Work Environment

 

Office environment; 10% travel required. 

 

While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
