Role Summary

The Sales Forecast Database is a key system for all Magna Divisions and Groups to support them in monitoring and tracking sales and business development opportunities.   Th Sales System Analyst will support the vision and direction of the combined efforts of our sales & marketing, business development and finance departments by providing application support in the development, implementation, and operation of the Database.  The position will assess issues related to the ongoing development of the application and ensure the system is consistently reliable and user friendly. The Sales System Analyst will work closely with the Senior Sales Systems Analyst and support the Director of Business Systems and other functions as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Sales Systems Analyst with all required upgrades, system maintenance and consolidation of system data
  • Work closely with Magna IT who are responsible for all system changes and support, including detailed testing for all system changes and updates
  • Work closely with Hyperion Financial Management ("HFM") System Administrators ensuring all change requests, that impact HFM, are assessed and if necessary, updated in the Sales Database (e.g., all company hierarchy changes, foreign exchange rate updates, security, etc.)
  • Assist with maintenance and control of all system access for Magna International and the Group Administrators
  • Assist with maintenance of all master data fields, updating when necessary for approved change items including (Customer master list, Magna product structure, and other reporting related tables) 
  • Serve as a technical resource for day-to-day application support including routine maintenance, and investigation of interface issues, including coordination of scheduling, testing and implementation
  • Assist with the coordination of the upload of global volume data from Magna Marketing into the Database
  • Support month-end closing and reporting process across Magna and Groups
  • Work closely with Senior Sales Systems Analyst and Magna IT in the maintenance and creation of all reports required for Magna International system users and coordinate all common reports required for Groups and Divisions
  • Assist with coordination of all training of Magna International level users and Group Trainers
  • Assist with maintenance of system documentation and training materials including the user manual, ensuring that Group Administrators are updated for changes to the system
  • Support the process of identifying, diagnosing, and solving existing process and system issues
  • Analyze and assess business processes to identify improvements/enhancements in the Database
  • Work closely with management and end-users to develop and enhance the application processes that will result in a stable productive environment
  • Collaborate with the user community to gather, confirm, and document user requirements
  • Collaborate with the user community to define and map (document) business processes, both current and future
  • Build collaborative relationships with other supporting IT services and the functional Hyperion Application Administrators
  • Work with the Magna Finance functional area to assist in tying in the GSD system to the Magna business plan process
  • Participate in future rollouts of the application to new sites/areas, as required
  • Train end users to operate new or modified software applications
  • Perform other duties, as required

Key Qualifications/Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or Software Engineering
  • 2+ years of automotive experience with a basic understanding of major OEM’s and product (Vehicle) life cycles.    
  • General understanding of systems and how a forecast is built
  •  Ability to work off-hours to support clients across different time zones and during periodically scheduled update/maintenance procedures 


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, in particular pivot tables to analyze large quantities of data
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work with customer-oriented teams in a global environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal, facilitation and organizational skills
  • Creative problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Flexible and independent while at the same time a team player in a demanding environment with changing priorities
  • Knowledge of PowerBI and SQL server is a plus 
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to changing needs
  • Ability to work with people at varying levels of the organization

Work Environment: 

  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
