Role Summary

The Senior Corporate Ergonomist will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Ergonomics providing the highest level of technical guidance for all Magna Groups and Divisions.  This individual will lead and develop global ergonomic tools, guidelines, training material and best practices.                                    
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new ergonomics tools/guidelines, templates, and mechanisms to enhance Magna’s Global Ergonomics Program and auditing process.
  • Mentor Regional Corporate Ergonomists and other key stakeholders into successful development of key ergonomics projects and initiatives.  
  • Work in partnership with plant management and personnel to facilitate Ergonomics Program requirements, develop a risk management system, execute action plans, and integrate ergonomic design guidelines into the Division's formal Engineering process.
  • Develop and deliver ergonomics training to different levels of plant personnel that will include plant specific case-studies tailored to address unique issues of different manufacturing processes.
  • Lead Corporate Ergonomists on emerging issues, conflicting technical approaches and overlapping regulatory requirements and research.  
  • Initiate and develop multi-disciplinary projects targeting reduction of ergonomic risk and musculoskeletal disorders.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5 - 7+ years’ work-related work experience in industrial ergonomics
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Sciences/ Engineering with a focus on ergonomics OR a Master’s degree in an accredited ergonomics program
  • Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) designation a plus
  • Experience with ergonomics risk factor assessments & industry tools, providing effective/practical recommendations, implementing, and developing ergonomics programs in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to meet demanding time frames, which may require extra hours on short notice
  • Ability to handle/ maintain confidential information and data constantly and discretely
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
     

Additional Information

  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct a normal amount of work at a computer. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to travel domestic and international up to 40% of the time
  • Position may be based in Michigan, Georgia or South Carolina
