Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Advanced Quality Engineering Team
  • Ownership of the product design and gauge and fixture design aspects
  • Ownership of the initial PSW process for new launches
  • Help to define a safe design process, ensuring the right inputs are available at the right stage of the design process and that the customer requirements are aligned to the manufacturing process
  • Lead Central Engineering support in the review of all customer specifications and requirements for new products and designs
  • Be the lead contact on all advanced quality aspects, supporting customer meetings and managing internal stake holders
  • Develop a team that are able to lead the APQP activities, hold engineering accountable to complete design steps such as SCSS agreements, FMEA and drive for safe and suitable design, with robust cascade and links to the Control Plan
  • Ensure that products are designed to achievable standards and specifications and escalate when they are not, you will be the key authority on the acceptance of designs from a quality aspect
  • Work closely with Product and Tooling Design Team to create a standard for gauge and fixture design, buy off and spares management
  • Drive suitable error proofing and spill prevention activities
  • Develop the AQE team to identify suitable measurement systems and plans
  • Work closely with current quality team during appropriate times during APQP, to ensure hand over stages are defined, agreed and supported
  • Capture feedback from current quality as Lessons Learned to improve future quality and design performance
  • Identify new and emerging technologies that we can apply to error proof systems
  • Support quoting activates for new products 
  • Promote the companies HSE policies across the department and plant.

Key Qualifications/Requirements


  • Strong Casting Design Background
  • Strong GD&T Knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with customers
  • Familiar with ECN/ECM Process
  • Understanding of die casting process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages
  • APQP



  • ONC/HNC Apprenticeship or equivalent either in Mechanical or Electrical Eng’g
  • Six sigma
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • 8D
  • APQP
  • AIAG Core Tools

Plant conditions necessitate exposure to heat, cold, dust, hot objects, and loud noises within our manufacturing environment. Full Health and Safety training and PPE provided for all conditions.
