Role Summary

This position reports directly to the Materials Department Manager and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of T.E.A.M. Systems as described below:

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse and inventory control functions; includes customer shipments, goods receipt, inventory control, and material storage/delivery to production.
  • Assist in managing transportation logistics for incoming and outbound freight for all incoming components.
  • Develops the competency of the warehouse operations team in the areas of skills and knowledge and providing performance feedback
  • Responsible for accurate work instructions & procedures to meet IATF requirements and enforcing with team members
  • Ensure that all Customer & Supplier concerns are addressed expediently and satisfactorily to effectively contain, root cause and permanently correct the issue(s).
  • Continuously examine the supply chain network in order to identify opportunities to reduce on hand inventory, decrease logistics costs, increase number of inventory turns, and improve the overall supply chain efficiency. 
  • Employ standardized work practices at all levels within the Warehouse Operations.
  • Effectively manage team for prompt receipt of in-coming purchased items for inventory recognition and control in predetermined multi-location storage.
  • Visibly leads and supports all Magna Team departmental and business goals as set forth in objectives and targets.
  • Manage overtime, weekend schedules and vacation schedules for all warehouse operation employees.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • A minimum of an associate’s degree in a related field or relevant work experience is required.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in an automotive plant environment and materials warehouse management is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse and inventory control concepts (FIFO, Kanban, cycle counting practices, etc.)
  • Excellent understanding of computer applications (Word, Excel, Access, ERP systems, etc.) 
  • Experience with a fully integrated manufacturing software package a must (Trans4M/QAD/SAP a plus).
  • E-Time a plus.
  • Proven organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Must maintain excellent communications skills working with customers, suppliers and the entire organizational team.
  • Must be very detail oriented.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
  • Must be highly motivated and drive change and continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of TS16949 and ISO requirements a plus.
