About the Role

The Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the design of the power electronics in innovative automotive high power, traction inverters. The person will be part of the Advanced Engineering power electronics team that works on innovative technologies in the field of power electronics, specifically inverters.
We are seeking intermediate to senior level candidates  – level determined based on candidate experience and expertise in the required areas outlined below.
As an Intermediate level engineer, the engineer will work independently with limited supervision to evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using knowledge and judgement to make adaptations and modifications. 
 

Your Responsibilities

•    Development of innovative power electronics and power modules for traction inverter
•    Transferring innovative power electronics technologies into future traction inverter
•    Start-up and carrying out tests of power electronics as well as root cause analysis and corrective measure implementation in case of test failures
•    Technology scouting in cooperation with the respective departments and industrial partners
•    Execution of studies in the field of power electronics to show feasibility and benefits of innovations
•    Close alignment with power electronics departments to ensure knowledge exchange.
•    Steering of academic and industrial partners in cooperation projects.

Who we are looking for

•    Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or mechatronics required, Master’s degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics preferred.
•    5 – 7 years of experience in Power Electronics design engineering; specifically with traction inverters (intermediate) required. 
•    Experience with power electronics
•    Experience with simulation and development tools e.g., Matlab, Plecs, LTSpice, Altium
•    Problem solving skills (“Getting the things done”)
•    Self-motivated, structured, analytical
