POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Generalist is reliable, positive and consistently motivates and supports employees in accordance with the Magna Employee Charter and Corporate Constitution principles, internal practices and regulatory compliance. They successfully plan, implement and maintain administrative processes, communications, and procedures. They encourage and exemplify open communication, responsiveness, confidentiality, respect and fairness with and among employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

ADMINISTRATION
•    Continuously improve the effectiveness of the Human Resources function by supporting all programs, policies and procedures including but not limited to employee relations, staffing, retention, recruitment, employee orientation, training & development, employee relations, compensation, payroll & employee benefits, organizational development and organizational change.  
•    Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna employee’s Charter.
•    Assist in updating and implementing the Employee Handbook.
•    Effective management and timing of the filing and maintenance of employment and benefit files.


BENEFITS / LEAVE OF ABSENCE / PAYROLL
•    Help administrate benefits programs, including but not limited to: health and welfare, retirement program, tuition reimbursement, COBRA, life / disability (short and long term), employee assistance programs, paid vacation and holiday programs, wellness, leaves of absence, etc.
•    Administrate and maintain accurate current personnel records in various HRIS systems.
•    Support employees with benefit / leave of absence / payroll inquiries.

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
•    Ensure employee confidentiality and data integrity are strictly maintained whether verbal, written or electronically transmitted.
•    Be a champion and example of Magna’s Open Door process.
•    Maintain open communications with all departments.
•    Define and determine policy interpretation and answer any employee inquiries regarding policies.
•    Support bi-monthly All Employee Meetings: prepare presentation deck, present pertinent information, and prepare and distribute general announcements as needed.
•    Involvement in customer staff and department meetings to understand business objectives, gather intelligence, understand paint points and get feedback on potential solutions as well as report out on findings. 
•    Manage Magna Exteriors’ ESE page (MagNet).

GLOBAL MOBILITY PROGRAM
•    Assist with global mobility program; domestic & international assignments, immigration requirements and relocation.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
•    Assist with annual performance review, mid year review and 90 day review as needed.
•    Support managers with performance management inquiries.

EDUCATION
•    Bachelors degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
•    3+ years’ work-related experience
•    Proficient computer knowledge and skills in Applicant Tracking Systems, PeopleSoft, ADP, Microsoft Suite, Workday, SuccessFactors.
•    Excellent written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills. 
•    Must be a self-starter with superior accuracy and the ability to maintain confidential information, records and/or files.
•    Demonstrated process mindset, project management skills, learning agility and customer focus.
•    Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment preferred but not a requirement.

Physical Demands/Work Environment - This position requires the ability to perform work while sitting, standing, average mobility to move around an office environment and able to conduct work at a computer. Ability to travel and willingness to potentially transfer to a manufacturing plant in the future is highly preferred.
