Mission of the Position


This role is responsible for the global project coordination, tracking and reporting for Magna Powertrain Engineering Product Function Groups. The Project Coordination Specialist will support projects in the Engineering Product Funtion Group (PFG) Organization by coordinating, tracking, and reporting across all projects globally.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support projects in the Engineering Product Function Group (PFG) Organization through administration of project charters, project plans, milestones, and deliverables.  
  • Coordinate project related meetings to track and report progress.
  • Lead in collecting financial inputs to develop project business cases, ensure financial tracking during the project execution phase.
  • Develop and track PFG project and organization KMI; develop action plans to improve performance.
  • Help to develop process to provide engineering quotes by PFG and Building Block.
  • Assist in the coordination of PFG meetings and annual activities – examples include workshops, roadmap creation, updates to PFG standards.
  • Maintain the PFG pages on Magnet, assist in internal communication of progress and achievements.
  • Creating project plans and proposals for Government funding opportunities for technical product developments, with support from Magna International specialists.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications


  • 1 - 3 years’ experience or more; project coordination, tracking information, maintaining, and preparing reports, standardizing reports, etc. 
  • Experience working in a cross functional technical team preferred.
  • Experience leading/facilitating meetings. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Understand the basics of automotive industry and engineering process.  Knowledge of systems requirements management would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of project management tools & process.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Good people skills required.
  • Able to work independently, and within a team environment.
  • Ability to bring new innovative ideas to the team.

Work Environment


15% travel required. 

While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes, and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
