Senior Product Engineer - PDM

Role Summary

Maintain and improve PDM functionality, root cause open issues, support end users, proactively avoid shutdowns, and resolve all system technical issues with the assistance of IT/vendor support.

Key Responsibilities

Work with Internal and External consultants and contractors to support the development, configuration, and installation of PLM solutions to support Cosma Engineering globally.

Research user groups for support and introduction of customizations and enhancements.

Participate in creation of technical training materials and provide support.

Provide end user training and one-on-one support.

Improve and enforce CAD systems (Catia and NX) best practices.

Support and facilitate the resolution of user/system/data issues.

Support and align workflows/processes to the Cosma Global BOS (Business Operating System) and QMS (Quality Management System).

Follow Regression and User supported acceptance Validation Testing.

Provide cross-functional support of automation tools and macros within the PLM system.

Create and maintain an organized set of documentation of resolution and lessons learned.

Explain Teamcenter-related issues (problems, solutions, proposed enhancements, etc.) to Leadership.

Recommend alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products, systems, and/or procedures.

Understand and adhere to company engineering work order and PLM systems.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Act with honesty and integrity and make ethical business choices in accordance with Magna’s Compliance Policies and Procedures.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education – Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study

Years of Experience:

Minimum five to seven (5-7) years of related experience required

Other Experience Preferred:

  • Budgeting experience
  • Product Design experience
  • Product Engineering/Release experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of Teamcenter
  • Forward planning and prioritization
  • Multi-faceted vetting of software supplier candidates
  • Accountability to meeting deliverables – with quality, on-time, within budget
  • Knowledge and basic understanding of PLM application product system
  • Understanding of Database concepts
  • Comprehension of the product design, development, and engineering process
  • Experience in CAD systems (Catia and NX)
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T and application
  • Knowledge of customer-specific standards and quality requirements for CAD
  • Excellent follow-up skills
  • Consider the needs of/communicate with global/regional Engineering personnel
  • Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and documentation skills (verbal and written form)
  • Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent presentation skills
