Mission of the Position

 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for building and implementing effective, results-driven recruiting strategies that meet business goals and objectives for assigned departments. Responsible for developing diverse talent pipelines (internal and external) to fill various openings, while simultaneously  partnering with other HR professionals to implement talent acquisition best practices.
 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for full lifecycle recruitment process including job description creation, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer letter management for all new hires and internal promotions/transfers. 
  • Conduct thorough intake meetings with hiring manager(s) to ensure an understanding of job duties, responsibilities, business requirements, and sourcing strategies to attract top quality candidates.
  • Maintain a strong employer branding message, and ensure open communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process. 
  • Participate in candidate interviews utilizing behavior-based interview questions. Coach and guide management on interview and hiring best practices providing feedback as needed. 
  • Support and provide input for weekly status meetings with management team(s), reporting monthly hire metrics, co-op/intern program metrics.
  • Create and manage onboarding and assimilation plans of newly promoted employees and new hires/transfers. 
  • Leverage all recruiting resources and stay informed of new trends and innovative recruitment techniques. 
  • Support College recruitment for our year-round Co-op and Internship program by attending University career fairs nationwide as well as various SAE events to identify top talent for the student program and entry level positions.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Magna Powertrain management team, community organizations, and other team members to create a partnership that yields success, predictable results and credibility.

Requirements and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Marketing, Business Administration, or similar required.
  • 1 - 5 years’ technical recruitment experience required
  • Automotive Industry experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and sound techniques of talent attraction.
  • Previous experience with professional recruitment associations, sourcing companies, and social networking.
  • Database, ATS or CRM software experience is required (SuccessFactors or similar) 
  • Experience with Office365 required, intermediate to advanced proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.

Work Environment

 

15% travel required. 

While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
