Role Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key part in the Digital Transformation Team and will be part of a tightly knit team that envisions, validates, and implements advanced manufacturing solutions for the future. In this role, you will be the main technical resource for the introduction of advanced manufacturing solutions to the Magna manufacturing plants by analyzing and identifying suitable applications within the plant. You enjoy working in a culture that fosters creativity and are passionate about problem-solving and overcoming challenges. You are self-motivated and driven by a need to innovate.

Key Responsibilities
- Introduce advanced manufacturing ideas / technologies to internal groups and divisions.
- Working with a team to identify suitable operations within Magna for advanced manufacturing technologies use.
- Envision solutions to transform Magna’s current manufacturing methods
- Perform and report feasibility and financial analysis of potential applications.
- Follow project implementation progress and adherence to timelines.
- Comply with the designated ISO / TS 16949 responsibilities, Health & Safety (H&S) rules and practices, and Magna policies, procedures, and practices.
- Perform any other assignments from time-to-time as management so directs.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in electrical, mechanical, or equivalent engineering discipline with appropriate manufacturing / process experience.
- Experience in processing material handling and assembly tasks, process layout and cycle time analysis of robotic and assembly cells.
- Understanding of PLC, networking protocols and technologies.
- Experience in Robot programming basics (ABB, Kuka, Yaskawa, Fanuc).
- Experience in software programming (C++ and/or Python is a plus).
- Creative and self-motivating with the ability to understand and divide a vision into prioritized tasks.
- Good collaborative decision-making skills: adept at working across organizational boundaries to accomplish tasks
- Broad technical background with a clear understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and plant operations
- Ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways.
- Provide the customer and company-wide perspective to detailed technical decisions.
