Weld Technician - 2nd or 3rd Shift

Role Summary

Assist the Maintenance Department by supporting BGM and customer quality systems, identifying and troubleshooting weld quality issues, and making recommendations for process improvements.

• Responsible for understanding the overall quality specifications and standards.
• Must identify and troubleshoot weld quality issues, follow process control plans and inspection procedures resulting in recommendations for system improvements.  
• Establish, maintain and implement welding parameters to support production and quality   assurance.
• Maintain and improve weld quality.
• Conduct weld inspection and analyze weld data.
• Identify and troubleshoot weld quality issues.
• Follow process control and inspection procedures.
• Suggest and implement recommendations for system improvements.
• Perform robotic weld touchups, create and modify welding programs.
• Troubleshoot and install all applicable welding equipment.
• Have the ability to fabricate.
• Perform other duties as required.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years with Associates degree in welding and/or 5 years work experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of GMAW welding processes and troubleshooting welding equipment
• Robotics knowledge
• AWS Certified
• Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Operate standard office equipment preferred
