Summary of Responsibilities

To support manufacturing in reaching quality goals while maintaining productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attain safety, quality and productivity goals.
  • Write and maintain inspection instructions and reports for check fixture and visual inspections.
  • Update operator instructions as required. Follow up with training to updated documents.
  • Perform Product Audits, Check Fixture Audits, and Layered Process Audits.
  • Monitor aging BT inventory to drive disposition.
  • Track completion and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Use problem solving tools to identify root cause.
  • Work with cross functional team to implement corrective actions.
  • Support SPC process.
  • Set up parts for data collection in WinSPC.
  • Distribute SPC reports.
  • Participate in meetings to review SPC data.
  • Participate in daily Fast Response meeting.
  • Work effectively with the Quality Assurance Manager, Operations Manager and department associates for continual improvement of methods, procedures, and policies.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with associates and management personnel.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings, plant meetings, and training.
  • Provide reports as required by the Quality Manager.
  • Promote and facilitate Open Door process, effective communication and Fair Treatment.
  • Participate in Continual Improvement activities.
  • Adhere to customer requirements, Quality Management System and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager or designate.

 

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Outlook at a minimum)
  • Basic knowledge of CMS
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customers
  • Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations
  • Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Able to maintain an excellent attendance record
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed to meet business needs

 

 

 

Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree in a related field, or 5 years related experience
  • Knowledge of Williamsburg Manufacturing processes, policies, and procedures
  • Knowledge of customer requirements
  • Knowledge of ISO/IATF 16949 requirements

 

Work Environment

  • Prominently office work but also work performed in manufacturing plant characterized by temperature extremes, loud noise, chemicals, considerable tow motor traffic and pressure caused by deadlines and interruptions
  • The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management and customers as required
  • Overtime as required to meet customer and internal deadlines
