Role Summary

The role of the IT Supervisor, SSG, Canada is to support the divisional IT teams and maintain support services to all divisions in the Canadian region while aligning with corporate IT strategy and divisional business requirements. This individual will plan, coordinate and manage IT-related activities as well as provide administrative and support for daily operational activities of the IT Shared Services Group. The IT Supervisor will work closely with the divisional IT teams and group IT teams to ensure all divisional, ERP, network, telephone, and building security systems are operational and continually strive to improve reliability, security, availability, and appropriate accessibility of these systems.  Knowledge of business operations, such as financial and personnel management, is important. A deep understanding of project management practices and processes, such as scheduling, budgeting, and meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that office and terminal computers, ERP, and network systems are set up and operating properly and problems are addressed on a timely basis.

• Analyze day-to-day functions and processes of infrastructure, software, and database resources to ensure they are performing within predetermined guidelines, limits, and specifications

• Manage End User Support ensuring the divisional IT team is delivering excellent support and meeting high levels of customer satisfaction. Provides quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.

• Manage the security and access rights of all managed systems and applications.

• Follow strategic directions for company information needs and implement solutions to meet company's long-term business plan.

• Responsible to review the scheduling, implementation, and monitoring of IT activities to ensure timely completion of projects and upgrades.

• Administer project list and prioritize all work, maintain and recommend improvements to all manufacturing systems and ensure the profitability of all processes.

• Collaborate with department personnel and design innovative solutions for all IT issues.

• Administer all business requirements and ensure the achievement of all business objectives, targets, and metrics.

• Administer all outside service contracts related to IT, telephone, and building security systems.

• Maintain divisional SOX and ITGC documentation and ensure all control requirements are in compliance. Enforce zero-tolerance for non-compliance.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • College Degree or Diploma in Computer Science is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of IT support/operations and 1 year in a leadership position
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
  • Strong background in operating systems, networking technologies, office information systems, Active Directory, VMware, relational database architectures, internet, and intranet development.
  • Proven experience in IT Operations processes and ITIL. ITIL certification is an asset.
  • Proven experience in end-user support.
  • ERP/MRP Experience is required, strong preference for the automotive experience.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Must be highly self-motivated and display the skills required to develop and motivate employees.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute or delegate tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills
  • Must have excellent listening and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in establishing and administrating Information Technology and Security Policies.
